I've been having trouble organising my F-E database (which I have been very very slowly poking away at), 'cause it just covers so much over so many time spans. @_@ So's at work I had this absolutely incredible idea while scooping out & packaging 30 kilos of various potato salads and coleslaws.

I'll divide the sections of the database by TIME.

So, yuh, I think this'll make it easier to manage and navigate for whenever it does go up (prolly next year at this rate xD).

Problem with this could be, however, deciding what epochs to use; like, what time units to divide it by. Simplest would be one for each frontier (Wild, Ocean & Space) or for each age (old, before common, common, space), with another for mechanics & magic that hold true throughout. However, some of these frontiers/ages have multiple campaigns in them that are years and years and years apart, and of course things change a lot within those time periods, and aauugh I bet it'd drive me so batty covering tiny discrepancies. I could just use each campaign as an epoch, but then I'd end up with like... 8 'time categories.' (6 for campaigns, 2 supplemental). xD

If my dad would let me use MediaWiki software this organisation problem would so not exist. >: ( Namespaces, I need yooouuuu--! *40min later* Actually, this CMS/thing looks like it could work: [link] But, ugh, requires MySQL database, which my dad is so not willing to help me with. I'm currently using CMSimple, which handily runs out of the box with just a flat file. However, its organisational capabilities are limited and driving me battier and battier. Dx

By the way, since I think people get confused over this - a note on terminology:
• Campaign - Main events of F-E that would end up being shown as video game / comic / whatever. Some are under a year in length, others about 2. In chronological order, they go by the initials WF1, WF2, GW, OF, FC, and SF.
• Frontier - A big, 'imaginary' unit of times that're named for whatever territory of exploration/expansion.
• Age - other big unit of time, most correspond to a frontier and are used within the F-E universe.

So, when I refer to the SF campaign, it is only one part of F-E and not the entire thing. I just like it the most so I spam it. xD Campaigns usually have the initials of whatever frontier they're in, except for GW (the end of Wild Frontier), FC (beginning of Space Frontier), and 'sidequests,' which are miscellaneous yet somewhat important events that go without title (for now). The most development so far has been put into the WF2, GW, and SF campaigns.
